Office of the Assistant Principal
Greetings,
My name is Ernesto Gonzales and I am the Assistant Principal at Rice Junior High. The following serves as a brief introduction about me. I have been an educator since August 2002 and have been part of the RCISD family since July 2020. I continue to radiate my passion for helping students on their path to becoming independent adults. I currently live within the quiet and friendly community of Altair. When I’m not busy with my career, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy hobbies that include fishing, camping, and playing a variety of recreational sports. I do enjoy being a role model and mentor for my students, which can often help students recognize their strengths and interests. I look forward to getting to know the Junior High Students this year and working with the wonderful staff.
For this coming school year, I look forward to being part of the JH team and doing my part to help students and staff have a positive experience at RJHS. I will hold students to a high standard of good character and maximum effort in their own education. I will encourage students to be involved in Raider activities and to be supportive of other Raiders. As always, I do have an open-door policy and try to be readily available for students, staff and parents. Let’s have a great school year… Raider’s Lead The Way!
